Tom Houck, to hear this foundational teaching based on the book Parenting for Purity. How will I know when I am in Love? One of the most commonly asked questions throughout history is, “How will I know when I am in love?” The typical response to that question is, “You’ll just know.” That is a frustrating and inappropriate answer to such a crucial question. The reason some people are unsure about their love relationship with another person is because that same uncertainty exists about their relationship with God. There is always a connection between our relationship with God and with other people. When you seek a biblically correct relationship with God, beginning first of all with believing He loves you, then all other relationships will fall into place. As Christians we should all have a clear and biblical understanding of what love is and what it isn’t. I Need to be Loved God has designed each of us with the need to be loved, so there is nothing wrong with having that need. His intention was that, first and foremost, we would fill that need with Him. There is, however, a danger involved when we misuse that desire for love and try to fulfill that inner need in the incorrect way. If we do not fulfill that need the way God intended, we will find ourselves looking for love in all the wrong places. Some people attempt to fill that void with romantic relationships that are not ordained of God. They try to substitute the need to be loved by God through emotional or physical intimacy with other people. While there may be some satisfaction in those relationships for a while, they will ultimately fall short of truly meeting that basic need. Those who do this will often find themselves in relationships that they wouldn’t have otherwise chosen, at a cost higher than they ever imagined.imagined. Join us on March 29th as we learn how to make the connection between our relationship with God and with others. Discover how to fulfill the need to be loved the way God intended so that you can find love in all of the right places. Abstinence teachings only take you so far. Purity teaches us how, and why to avoid immorality. Learn about the entire message of purity that will impact your whole life!
Purity prevents immorality from taking place because it catches it at its early stages. It teaches what a person can do to not even get close to stepping on the path of immorality. Finding Love in All the Right Places will help parents know what to teach their children in the area of relationships. Teens are welcome - there is no language used that would harm a child's moral innocence. Young adults and single adults will also enjoy this teaching that brings freedom! It is our desire to see young people free to follow God and wait for the person God has for them, saving their whole heart and memories for that special person. And for those that have already had broken hearts, it is our desire to see God bring restoration and healing and the opportunity to start over. This is a "from-now-on' message!
Whether your children are toddler's or teens, it's never too soon to start instilling the basic concepts of biblical opposite gender relationships in our children. And it is never too late! God is so good in His mercy that allows us to start over. Either way, the goal is for our children to arrive at the marriage alter hear whole and free from emotional baggage! The truth sets us free!

Where: Zion Christian Church, 3668 Livernois, Troy 48083, 1/2 mile north of Big Beaver (16 mile). Enter at west entrance. Doors open at 6:30pm - meeting in the chapel. Coffee will be available.
Time: Starts promptly at 7pm...
Register: Cost is $5.00 per person, $8.00 per family, paid at the door. To reserve your spot, or for inquiries, email Lisa at parentingforpurity@gmail.com with names of people coming, ages of youth, and email and phone no. Please don't let cost be an issue - contact us.
Parents often ask if they can bring their younger children...while the level of the teaching is high school to adult, there is nothing that your younger children shouldn't hear so they are welcome. Mature Jr. High age should be able to follow along.
